Tia giggle slightly before standing and brushing off stray bits of grass from the front of her dress and from her perpetually messy hair. “Oh, I’ll be alright. I like sitting in the sun. I was born in the summer heat so it takes a lot for me to get overheated.” She gave the other a smile and shuffled her foot on the ground. “But, thanks for the concern.” She held out a hand. “I’m Tia by the way.”
He smiled and shook her hand enthusiastically. “Tia, huh? Well, Tia, you’re welcome and I’m Damien. It’s nice to meet you.” He grinned happily at her, carefully reaching out and pulling a piece of grass from her hair. “Looks like you missed one,” he chuckled.
“Damien…” The name sounded rather familiar. “Well, Damien it’s an honor to meetcha on this beautiful day.” She raked her small fingers through her tangled hair in case there were anymore blades of grass stuck between the strands. “Oh, dear. I hope I don’t have anything else in there. I’m just about ready to give up on taming this mess on my head.”
